When I stumbled upon Away by B.A. Wolfe many months ago--March to be exact.. I was worried, like most typical debut's or cheaper self-published books that I would be somehow let down.. the average 3-4 star rating... Let me tell you B.A. took Away, one of my favorite books, and made Stay absolute perfection.
Coming off of Away (total cliffhanger by the way), I was itching to get my hands on this book. Finally, I was given an ARC for the blog tour and seriously couldn't wait to dive in. Your heart just doesn't heal after the ending we were given in Away. Stay takes that heartbreak, the anger, all the feelings you felt in Away and makes you whole and makes Cassie's story whole.
"When life kicks the rug out from under you, how do you move one? How do you wake up each day and know the sun is going to shine when you feel like it's going to be night forever?"
Cassie has matured immensely in this book. She has a beautiful baby boy who she is caring for and making her way through life in her own way. In walks this beautiful boy at a coffee shop and just happens to have an absolutely embarrassing mishap with him. While out with her bestie, Mel, one afternoon.. she spots that same guy at the bar. She doesn't know how to feel after everything that has happened but she self-talks herself into chatting with him. This is where you really start to get to know Dan.
Dan is handsome. 6'4 and chiseled. What some like to call perfection. He is such a sweet guy and has his head on straight. A teacher and a football coach, he is making his way through life being the best version of himself.
After a weekend away at Keaton--everything changes.
"Life wasn't about cleaning up the messes you made. It was about the fun you had while making them."
You get to see lots of Mel, lots of Jason, and many more characters you grew to love in Away. It is totally hard to write a review on this book when you can't give away details from the first book. When I tell you that reading Away is imperative, I mean it. Stay will help mend your broken heart, it will make you cry, you will laugh, and you will swoon. This is a great completion to Cassie's story and by the time you are finished, your heart will be so full. B.A.-- You have grown so much since Away. You did an absolutely phenomenal job with Stay and I look forward to book 3.. very much!
