Review of Promise Me This by Christina Lee
*I received this book by netgalley in exchange for an honest review*

Synopsis:
A new love will test the boundaries of passion between a privileged boy next door and the tattooed, blue-haired girl who helps him embrace his wild side...
Nate has developed quite a playboy reputation around campus. It's not that he doesn't respect or trust women; he doesn't trust himself. The men in Nate’s family are prone to abusive behavior—a dirty secret that Nate’s been running from his entire life—so Nate doesn't do relationships. But he can’t help himself around one girl… Jessie is strong, independent, and works at a tattoo parlor. Nate can’t resist getting close to her, even if it’s strictly a friendship. But it doesn't take long for Nate to admit that what he wants with Jessie is more than just friendly. With Jessie, he can be himself and explore what he’s always felt was a terrifying darkness inside him. Even when Nate begins to crave her in a way that both shocks and horrifies him, Jessie still wants to know every part of him. Testing their boundaries together will take a trust that could render them inseparable… or tear them apart.
_________________________
Jessie and Nate have been friends for some time. They always banter back and forth but Nate has always had an attraction to Christina. Christina is a beautiful girl full of tattoos. She's never given Nate a second glance until she catches Nate in a compromising position. She finds that maybe Nate has a different side to him than his "square" appearance.

Nate has had a crappy childhood thanks to his father. He is terrified that some of the urges he has will lead him down the same road as his father. Nate offers to help Jessie out with her photography project and after one night of passion, feelings develop. Jessie lets Nate be who he truly is. Something Nate isn't sure he is ready to admit to.

Jessie and Nate form this incredible relationship full of passion and love. Jessie is able to help Nate realize he is not a bad person. Nate is able to open up more and get the help his family so desperately needs.

It's a story of opposites attract.. It's also a story about not judging a book by its cover.
I fell in love with Jessie right away. I loved her expression of herself. She loved herself. She didn't care if people stared at her because she was covered in tattoos.. her tattoos was expression of self and I loved that. Nate had such a tortured soul. I just wanted to hug him. Their relationship was amazing and I loved every moment of it.

This was my first book by Christina Lee and won't be my last. This book is the 4th book in the Between Breaths series and I think I might just have to pick up the rest. I loved it.
